Enthusiastic FedEx volunteers warm up for their GECKO Presentations
On November 16th through 18th, Greennovate teamed up with FedEx, training ten volunteers to visit over 400 students at two Guangzhou High Schools.
This was the second installment of the partnership between Greennovate and Fedex began with an introductory session to our Corporate Train the Trainer Program for all interested FedEx employees. This first session was meant to introduce Greennovate and what we do, and give employees the gist of our GECKO program in order to recruit a core team of volunteers to be trained to visit the schools. Ten employees enthusiastically signed up for our program and attended an afternoon of training the following day.
On November 18th, Greennovate and FedEx volunteers visited Guangzhou Peicai High School and Guangzhou No. 97 High School to present on Easter Island and our environmental footprint, after getting the crowd fired up with an interactive quiz game. We were warmly met on both occasions by a large group of staff and students. The Guangzhou No. 97 High School presentation was also attended by a government official from China’s Environmental Protection Bureau.
